Marriage deserves to be canceled

No one needs marriage. Marriage is not needed in a good relationship and marriage does not keep a problem one together. It no longer adds security to a committed relationship.

The rise of feminism and the denigration of respect for men and all forms of masculinity has produced serious negative effects on American culture and society. The impact of these changes can clearly be seen in heterosexual relationships and in the institution of traditional marriage.

This is not a scientific study or university-style paper with footnotes, rather it is a commentary on the subject of marriage and men. It’s dedicated and written for the average man in his 20’s and 30’s.

Sixty years ago, it would have been a radical concept to propose the cancellation of the institution of marriage. But today, more than 50% of marriages end in divorce with 80% of divorce filings being made by women. Obviously, marital dissatisfaction among women is very high. Divorces aside, only about 13% of marriages are reported as being happy.

The perspective of this book is unquestionably one-sided, and male. But that fact does not diminish its merit in any way

Marriage was not created to dominate a man’s life, but to complement it. It is not a man’s destiny to get married - it is a choice. A man should not automatically assume that his role in society is destined to be family-centered.

Men should strive to be fiercely independent and masculine. They should realize in their heads and in their hearts that marriage is just an available option, and recognize it as a very dangerous undertaking – like playing Russian Roulette with only one empty chamber in the revolver.

No man needs marriage, and smart men don’t want it.
